There’s no fish called cação (dogfish). It’s just a generic name given to thousands of shark species to make selling the meat easier. As a result, even endangered sharks can end up on your plate without you knowing.

That’s why we created Bye Bye Shark, a distant cousin of Baby Shark. The cutest shark, the most charismatic one, and the star of one of the most famous songs in the world — now with a warning: the real danger is ending up on your plate. Together with Sea Shepherd Brasil, we launched this new character to raise awareness that more than 100 million sharks are killed every year.
